Practice Policies
1. Attendance and Punctuality
- Arrive Early: Swimmers should arrive at least 10 minutes before practice to allow time to change and set up equiptment. Being on time ensures the practice starts smoothly and on schedule.
- Regular Attendance: Consistent participation is vital for skill development and team cohesion.
2. Attire and Equipment
- Proper Swimwear: Swimmers should wear swimsuits and bring necessary equipment, such as goggles, swim caps/hair tie, and towel.
- Dryland Gear: In case of pool closure dryland training sessions will be held. Please wear appropriate athletic attire and tennis shoes are required.
3. Behavior and Conduct
- Respectful Attitude: Swimmers must follow coaches' instructions and maintain a respectful demeanor toward teammates, coaches, and officials. Disruptive behavior, including back-talk and horse play, is not tolerated.
- Locker Room Etiquette: Proper behavior in locker rooms is essential. Roughhousing, yelling, or tampering with others' belongings is unacceptable.
4. Parental Involvement
- Supportive Role: Parents should support the coaching staff and avoid coaching their children during practices.
- Observation Areas: Parents are encouraged to observe practices from designated areas, such as bleachers, and should refrain from being pool side.
Implementing these policies can help create a structured, respectful, and safe environment conducive to the development and success of all swim team members.
